Sometimes the product was
purposely designed to convey sensual, sexual overtones, as were the
phallic-shaped bottles that the Wells, Rich, Green agency designed for
Love Cosmetics. Mary Wells Lawrence, founder of the agency, relates in
her recent book, A Big Life (in Advertising), page 53, that
when Dick Rich first saw the product, he told the designer that he
should circumcise them.
